Sounds great! Anything you would caution against?

Thanks for reading! In the traveler tips, we mention a few things around this being a no-frills vacay. I would caution against bringing designer clothes or shoes as it can get muddy during wet season (plus everywhere is very low key), and while the water is filtered, it's best to drink bottled water everywhere to be safe. Hope this helps, and if you have any other questions feel free to reach out!

Thank you for the write-up! Very helpful. Planning on going to either Nosara or Santa Teresa in early December. I definitely want to unplug a little, but won't mind socializing at night. Nosara seems to be more restorative. Would you say it is still easy to meet new people and socialize there or would another beach town be better suited for this?

Hi Jay! thanks for the comment. There's definitely opportunities to socialize while there, especially on weekends. Selina and Yaxa have periodic parties and there's also a jungle party once a month that you'll find flyers for around town. The best way to find out about what's going on any given night is to ask the local bartenders at places like Howler's and Elixir because they usually know what's up.

Hope this helps! And feel free to reach out with any other questions.

ps. how did you find about NextVacay?

What is your recommendation to travel into Nosara? Do you know any tips from SJO airport?

Hi Kellie! It’s ideal to fly into LIR then drive 2 hours, but we’ve noticed the flights to LIR can be more expensive than SJO. Otherwise it’s a 4+hr drive from SJO. Renting a car is manageable and a fun adventure, just get the insurance :)

Also, there are a handful of weekly flights between SJO and Nosara directly, it just might be tricky to line it up perfectly.
