Issue #7
Los Angeles mini guide, 2025 travel trends and the most anticipated luxury hotel openings.
Welcome to Next Vacay’s first issue of 2025! We are back after a little break over the holidays that included lots of travel planning and inspo… More on that below.
Mini Guide: Los Angeles, California
Perfect for: Healthy and active travelers, foodies, and cinephiles
The City of Angels is a mix of Hollywood glam, trendy bars and restaurants, and chill healthy vibes with a lively art and culture scene. From hikes in the canyons to stylish spots in Santa Monica, LA has something for everyone.
Los Angeles is perfect for a long weekend getaway if you stay central, but you could easily extend your stay to soak in more of the culture and coastal beauty with little side trips over the course of a week or more.
Best Time to Visit: Honestly anytime.
This is a great destination year-round, which can’t be said of too many places. Peak LA weather is in spring and fall when the weather is mild, and crowds are manageable.
The rainy season is from November to April, even then doesn’t usually have too much rain. Winter temperatures are still comfortable though might require a jacket at night, and summers can get hot in the middle of the day but still enjoyable without humidity.
Budget Meter: $$$ = Moderate to Luxurious
Los Angeles has a reputation for luxury, but it also offers a range of options to suit different budgets. Enjoy affordable tacos from food trucks or splurge on a tasting menu at a celebrity chef’s restaurant. Boutique hotels and luxury resorts abound, but there are also chic, moderately priced options.
Sustainability Meter: Progressing Green
Los Angeles has been improving its sustainability efforts with electric scooters, bike lanes, and farm-to-table dining. Public transit like the LA Metro is expanding, though rideshares and cars still dominate the main modes of transportation since the city is so spread out. Opt for eco-conscious hotels, walkable areas and local dining when possible.
Getting There:
Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is the primary gateway, with plenty of domestic and international flights. The FlyAway bus offers a convenient transfer to the city center. Burbank Airport (BUR) is another option, often with less congestion.
LAX Tip: LAX can be overwhelming, so plan for extra time during busy seasons. Consider using the private terminal (PS) for the ultimate luxury in arrival/departure experiences.

On Our Radar
Here are some places we’re filing under ‘want to go’…
South Tyrol, Italy: Located in the northernmost part of Italy, the South Tyrol province includes part of the Dolomites mountain range with some incredible valleys, lakes and ski resorts. This particular one looks unreal.
Guangxi, China: Bordering Vietnam, this autonomous region in southern China is known for these mountain-like karst formations, limestone caves, and tranquil rivers for boat cruises. The picturesque landscape at this resort has this remote part of China on our radar.
Until next time, stay curious.
