Issue #10
The London guide gets updated, tariffs affecting travel, and the newest Aman hotel opens in Bangkok.
Happy Sunday and thanks for reading Next Vacay! In today’s issue, I’ve updated the London guide and compiled the latest travel headlines.
Full Guide: London, UK
Last month I was in London for a work trip. For any newcomers here, I lead food and beverage branding for Aman, and one of our main corporate offices is there. I managed to try some amazing restaurants as part of my market research, and I’m excited to share them with you.
The London food scene is really bursting with talent right now, so if you have the opportunity to dine at any of the places I’ve included, I hope you will (and let me know how it was). I’m still thinking about these meals. Check out the updated guide below.
Making Headlines
Why International Travelers are Avoiding the U.S. (USA Today): A new survey reveals that long wait times at immigration, complex visa requirements, and limited airport infrastructure are turning global travelers away from the U.S. Experts warn that if improvements aren’t made, the country could lose billions in tourism revenue.
Major Airline Slashes Economy Fares on Transatlantic Travel (The Independent): Air France has quietly rolled out “light” fares on some international routes that exclude seat selection and checked baggage. It’s part of a growing trend among legacy carriers to unbundle economy class, especially on transatlantic routes.
Cruise Terminal Called Largest in the World Opens in Florida (Tampa Bay Times): MSC Cruises has opened the largest cruise terminal in North America at PortMiami, capable of handling 36,000 passengers per day. The move signals continued demand for cruising—and Miami’s growing dominance as a global cruise hub.
The Newest Aman Just Opened With Rooms Starting at $1,100—Here's a Local's Full Review of Aman Nai Lert Bangkok (Travel + Leisure): After years of anticipation, Aman Nai Lert Bangkok is officially welcoming guests. Nestled in a lush private garden in the heart of the city, the property blends Aman’s signature serenity with Thai modernism, setting a new bar for luxury stays in Southeast Asia.
On Our Radar
Alstad, Norway: Even if you’re not coming here to do Succession-level deals, the grounds on this property are captivating year round.
Ios Island, Greece: The natural beauty of this island is reason enough to visit, and the Calilo hotel’s extremely unique and immersive design adds even more to the appeal.
Until next time, stay curious.
